Here come the IArtists: WeStories Music launches Nina Solaria and Ian Marone, two digital artists with stories of their own

The new home of digital artists debuts with two releases, both sung in Spanish: the urban pop of "Sin Filtro, Baby" and the soul blues of "No Fue Suerte".

WeStories Music introduces its first two IArtists: Nina Solaria and Ian Marone. They are digital artists created with artificial intelligence, but with something that sets them apart: each one has a story, a personality and a world of their own, and sings original songs written to tell that story.

Nina Solaria is 25, has a white streak in her hair and zero interest in pretending. She debuts with "Sin Filtro, Baby" ("No Filter, Baby"), an urban pop track about daring to say what you feel. Ian Marone, on the other hand, is a soul blues singer in his mid-forties, in a dark suit and a white shirt, who sings «what you once kept quiet». His new song, "No Fue Suerte" ("It Wasn’t Luck"), is about the effort nobody sees.

The idea of virtual singers isn’t new: for years, artists who never existed have filled stadiums as holograms, and animated bands have sold millions of records. WeStories Music’s proposal is to bring it to Spanish-language music, with close-to-home stories that anyone can recognize as their own.

«Every story deserves to be sung», says the label’s motto. «IArtists aren’t here to take anyone’s place: they’re one more way to move us», adds the WeStories Music team.

Both music videos are available now on YouTube, and each artist’s day to day can be followed on Instagram: @ninasolaria and @soyianmarone.

WeStories answers.

Questions and answers ready to publish as they are, or to pull the quotes you need.

What is an IArtist?

A digital artist with a face, a voice, a story and a personality of their own. They sing original songs and live on social media like any other artist.

Why stories?

Because the songs that stay with us the most are the ones that tell something that happened to us. Everything starts there: first the story, then the song.

Are they here to replace singers?

No. IArtists are one more way of making music, just like radio, cassettes or streaming were in their time. They add, they don’t replace.

Who’s behind it?

A creative team that writes, composes, produces and directs every release. Behind every song there’s always a person.

Why do they sing in Spanish?

Because that’s where their stories come from: Buenos Aires. Music crosses borders without translation.

What’s next?

More music, more stories and new IArtists.

Fun facts

For the headline.

  • The word «IArtist» is ours: it hides the IA (Spanish for AI) inside, like «historIA», Spanish for «story».
  • The artists’ names hide it too: IAn Marone and Nina SolarIA.
  • Nina sings urban pop and Ian sings soul blues: two different worlds under one roof.
  • All the music is original: lyrics and songs created for each story, in Spanish.

Long

WeStories Music is a home of IArtists. It creates digital art out of stories that deserve to be told: artists with a face, a voice and a personality of their own, who sing, perform and move people just like anyone made of flesh and blood. Behind every song there’s a person who dreamed it up. Art made by two.

Nina Solaria, the IArtist who dares to do it all, debuts with "Sin Filtro, Baby"

The first single from WeStories Music’s digital artist is an urban pop track, sung in Spanish, about saying what you feel and showing yourself just as you are.

Nina Solaria is 25, has a white streak in her hair that has become her trademark, and lives by one line: «What you see is what you get». She’s an IArtist: born digital, but what she sings about is very real.

"Sin Filtro, Baby" ("No Filter, Baby"), her first single, puts into words what so many people think and keep to themselves: the urge to text first, to stop pretending and to own what you feel. «I like you more than I should», she sings in Spanish.

The music video follows her from her bedroom in the early hours all the way to the club, in her stage look: silver glitter around the eyes and red lips.

«One day I just went for it. Like with everything», Nina says when asked about her white streak.

"Sin Filtro, Baby" is out now on YouTube (@NinaSolaria), and you can follow her day to day on Instagram: @ninasolaria.

Sin Filtro, Baby (No Filter, Baby)

Ready-made interview

Nina answers.

Questions and answers ready to publish as they are, or to pull the quotes you need.

Who is Nina Solaria?

A 25-year-old who says what she feels. I was born digital, but what happens to me is very real: I fall in love, I laugh out loud and I reply even when my friends tell me not to.

What does it feel like to be an IArtist?

I don’t have a filter even for that: I’m digital and I say so. What matters is whether the song gets to you.

Why the white streak?

One day I just went for it. Like with everything.

What is «Sin Filtro, Baby» about?

About daring to say what you feel, without playing hard to get. That’s just how it comes out of me.

What do you do when you’re not singing?

Mate, boxing, going out with my girlfriends and dancing until the lights come on.

What’s next?

More songs and more nights. And someday, singing with Ian.

Fun facts

For the headline.

  • Her trademark is the white streak: «One day I just went for it. Like with everything».
  • Her signature move is the raised eyebrow, on the side of the streak.
  • In her day to day she posts photos with no filter: freckles and dark circles included.
  • She writes her songs at 3 a.m., in a notebook.
  • If Argentina is playing, there’s no rehearsal.

"No Fue Suerte": Ian Marone brings his creator on stage

In his new music video, WeStories Music’s soul blues IArtist sings, in Spanish, about the effort nobody sees, and shares the stage with the person who imagined him.

Ian Marone sings in a black-and-white club, in a dark suit and a white shirt. He’s a soul blues IArtist and, in his own words, he sings «what you once kept quiet».

"No Fue Suerte" ("It Wasn’t Luck") is about the nights nobody saw behind every achievement. Halfway through the video, Ian calls Diego, his creator, up on stage to sing with him: «This is yours too». A moment that sums up the label’s idea: art made by two.

«Yours won’t be luck either. It’ll be yours», the song says.

Before this, Ian released "Mi Propia Voz", "La Última Copa" and "Ser Argentino". Little is known about what came before in his life: every song is a piece of it.

"No Fue Suerte" is out now on YouTube (@IanMarone); on Instagram: @soyianmarone.

No Fue Suerte (It Wasn’t Luck)

Ready-made interview

Ian answers.

Questions and answers ready to publish as they are, or to pull the quotes you need.

Who is Ian Marone?

A guy who has already lived. I fell, I got back up, and now I say out loud what a lot of people keep quiet.

What does it feel like to be an IArtist?

I was born from my creator’s imagination. But the stories I sing belong to everyone: the one who lost his father, the one who gave up drinking, the one who started over.

Where are you from?

From some bar in Buenos Aires. The rest, I’m not telling yet: every song is a piece of it.

Why does Diego appear in «No Fue Suerte»?

Because this is his too. Nothing I sing would exist without him.

Why a coffee and not a whisky?

Since «La Última Copa», never another drink. Some things you say by singing them, and you stand by them every day.

What would you tell someone hearing you for the first time?

That I’m not going to give advice. I’m going to tell you what happened to me. If it helps, that’s enough.

Fun facts

For the headline.

  • He always sings in a dark suit and a white shirt.
  • Since «La Última Copa», he only drinks coffee in his videos.
  • His world is black and white: a 1960s club, smoke and a single spotlight.
  • Little is known about his past: «Every song is a piece of it».
  • In «No Fue Suerte» he brings Diego, his creator, up on stage.

Long

Ian Marone is a soul blues IArtist from WeStories Music. Born from his creator’s imagination, he sings in a black-and-white club, in a dark suit and a white shirt.
